The Peace Point™ System converts the abstract legal requirement of “without breach of the peace” into observable conditions with defined point values and mandatory thresholds. It moves the industry from “I know it when I see it” to “here is the score.”

That shift — from intuition to measurement — is the central contribution of this work. And because the system is grounded in a commercially published work, it carries independent credibility that an internal policy cannot match. The standard existed before any specific claim, can be evaluated by any outside party, and cannot be accused of being invented after the fact.

Agent crosses onto private property to access the vehicle. Entire parcel counts. Public street = 0 pts.

Obj-Entry / Obj-Recovery

Objection to the agent's presence on the property, or objection to the vehicle being taken. Two distinct categories; both score +1.

Spotlight Condition (each)

Environmental risk flag: Authority Presence, Physical Barrier, Elevated-Risk Environment, or Emotionally Charged Location.

Crowd Formation

Multiple individuals gathering with loss of environmental control mid-encounter. Separate tier from Spotlight Conditions. One event = +2.

Automatic Stop

Violence, verbal threat, weapon visible or referenced (verbal reference sufficient), entrapment, intentional property damage, LEO order to stop, consumer medical emergency.

2 Points = Mandatory Stop. No exceptions, no judgment calls, no overrides. Cool-off: points × 30 min, company-wide. Automatic Stop: 24 hrs minimum + written clearance.

Why a Published Standard Matters

Internal policies can be written or changed at any time. When a question arises about what standard an organization was operating to, “we have an internal policy” answers nothing — because a policy can be revised, reinterpreted, or created after the fact.

A commercially published standard is different. It existed before any specific incident. It can be evaluated by anyone independently. It carries the credibility of formal publication, third-party review, and public availability. When you train to the Peace Point™ System, you are training to a standard that stands on its own — not because you said so, but because it was published before the question was ever asked.

Completion Standard

A repossession is complete when all wheels of the collateral have left the property that was entered for recovery. Not hooked, not lifted — all wheels off the property entered. This property-rights-centric standard defines when the breach-of-peace evaluation window closes.

Write Like a Camera

Every SOR entry must describe what a camera would have captured — observable facts, neutral language, exact quotes. No opinions or character assessments. Documentation is contemporaneous — created at the scene or immediately upon departure, establishing evidentiary weight that reconstructed records cannot.
